“Focus on improving yourself, not proving yourself”

Personal biography

I am a graduate with an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Family Studies and Human Development, with a strong foundation in understanding the social and emotional factors that shape individuals and families. Through my professional and volunteer experiences, I have supported diverse populations, including individuals, couples, and families navigating complex challenges. These experiences have strengthened my skills in empathy, communication, and client-centred care, and deepened my commitment to mental health and well-being. I am passionate about pursuing a career in social work, where I aim to create inclusive, supportive spaces and empower others to navigate challenges and achieve meaningful growth.

Professional Experience

I have developed experience across research, education, and mental health support settings. I am currently contributing to a university-based research project examining dietary supplement use and its relationship to mental health, where I am co-authoring a research paper. Additionally, I have engaged in client-facing and supportive roles that have strengthened my skills in communication, empathy, and working with diverse populations. My academic background further supports my ability to provide thoughtful, client-centred care.
